ICT Industry-University Research Connector Event

Meet University researchers that are interested in establishing research partnerships with companies. Network and get new ideas for research collaborations/product lines off the ground. Participating company representatives will be given an opportunity to make brief, 3-minute elevator-pitch presentations to highlight their industrial research interests to academic participants. Academic participants will, in turn, be invited to make similar pitches outlining their research capabilities which may assist the companies.
To help initiate new research projects responding to company needs, NSERC's Engage Program can provide qualifying new partnerships between Canadian university researchers and Canadian companies with up to $25,000 in support. The funds will underwrite a short-term R&D project that addresses a company-specific problem. No cash contribution from the industry partner is required. There are numerous other NSERC and RDC funding programs that can support research collaborations and together with MITAC can provide access to graduate student expertise.
